Our gin present quick guide
Give the gift of quality gin (from £6.00)
For a gin lover, nothing beats a quality bottle of craft gin to receive as a present.
Craft or artisanal gins differ from big labels as they’re often made in small batches from locally sourced botanicals and ingredients; the quality and type of botanicals, as well as the recipe, can significantly change the taste and flavour of a gin.
Gin enthusiasts love to try out new, small-batch, craft gins whenever the opportunity arises for them. But true craft gins from independent distilleries are rarely found on the shelves in big supermarkets or drinks shops.
This makes buying a bottle of craft gin as a Christmas present, directly from a distillery, a thoughtful and unique gift, whilst helping to support small, independent businesses!
Your options
At Filey Distillery, we’re proud to distil and hand-bottle every batch of gin in-house on the North Yorkshire coast. We’ve won coveted awards for both our signature gin and pink gins, including the Master's and Gold medals at The Spirits Business Global Gin Masters awards.
We offer free UK-wide shipping on all orders over £40, and can deliver directly to you or to your recipient for a gin gift by post!
Quality gins under £10-15

For under £10, you can get a miniature taster bottle of our refreshing, signature Filey gin (£6). It is smooth and complex in flavour with notes of citrus, spice, and a hint of sweetness.
You can also get a miniature taster bottle of our pink gin (£6). The pink gin builds on the locally-sourced secret botanical blend of our signature gin, adding cassia and cinchona bark, orange peel, fresh Filey rhubarb, and strawberries for a delightful balance of sweet and spicy flavours.
If you can’t decide, you can buy both of our signature and pink gin taster bottles in a miniature gin gift set for under £15. Our miniature gin bottles make the perfect gift for a small present, Secret Santa, or a stocking filler.
Under £40

We also offer bottles of our signature gin and pink gin in 70cl bottles for just £37. This makes the perfect gift to enjoy throughout the Christmas season.
Gift quality tonics & mixers (from £2)
Gin and tonic are a classic combination. If you’re looking to get a gin enthusiast a bottle of craft gin as a gift, quality tonics or mixers make a perfect pairing present.
Tonic waters are available in a complete range of flavours and types, ranging from classic, plain tonics through to the fruity and unusual:
-
Citrus tonics: Flavours include lemon, blood orange, grapefruit, lime, and clementine. They are perfect to add zing and tartness to balance with juniper-led gins
-
Floral and fruity tonics: Flavours can include elderflower, rhubarb, rose, açai, raspberry, rhubarb, pineapple, and more. Elderflower is by far the most popular floral tonic water, and can add sweetness to balance a dry gin
-
Unique tonics: Flavours can include ginger, vanilla, earl tea, rosemary, olive, hibiscus, and more. Unique and unusual tonic waters can make a great gift for gin lovers to shake up their go-to.
For a classic G&T, a quality tonic water with a craft gin will lead to the best flavour experience.
As a rule of thumb, we generally recommend pairing flavoured tonics with a classic gin, and classic tonics with a flavoured gin. But feel free to combine and experiment, and gift the drinks your recipient will love!
Prices for quality tonic waters range depending on quantity and type, though you can usually buy a single large bottle for £2-£3 or £4-£6 for a multipack of smaller bottles.
Gift gin distillery tours, tasting days & experiences
For a gin lover, a tour of a distillery or a tasting day makes the perfect day out. So why not gift a gin-making experience or tour as a Christmas present?
The opportunity to experience a distillery first-hand, and explore the botanics, gin still, bottling process, and sample the drinks along the way is one not to miss.
At Filey Distillery, we offer guided tours of our historic gin distillery. A former herring smokehouse, our distillery is situated on the picturesque North Yorkshire coast, in the unspoilt seaside town of Filey.

Tickets are just £20 each, and throughout the day you will be given a guided tour, with a free drink and branded glass as a keepsake, with the opportunity to sample new, unreleased gins, and go shopping with an inclusive voucher.
Filey makes a great destination for either a day trip or a longer stay. It is a stone's throw away from popular destinations such as York and Scarborough, and is easily accessible from larger cities such as Manchester and Sheffield.

Gift gin glasses & merchandise
Glassware is a great gift choice for any gin drinker. The shape and style of a gin glass can enhance the aroma and taste of a gin, so gifting a quality tumbler can help your recipient enjoy their favourite gin the right way.
We offer branded Filey Gin tumblers that are sleek and stylish, and help to indulge in the best gin-drinking experience.
Merchandise also makes a great choice for a small gift or stocking filler. So why not choose merchandise from their favourite gin distillery?
As an award-winning craft gin distillery, we offer branded gin T-shirts for as little as £10, in a range of colours, including black, pink, and grey. We also offer a number of gin tea towels that match our signature and pink gins for £8.
Make your own gin hamper
Want to gift something more personal and unique than a pre-made gin gift set? Making a hamper is a thoughtful and easy way to show you’ve thought of someone.
You can easily put together a gin hamper as a gin gift for him or her; the beauty of a hamper is the ability to choose what you want to put in.
As gin enthusiasts, we’re happy to share some of our favourite recommendations to help get you started:
Drinks
Gin: A good quality craft gin is key for a gin hamper. You can choose a number of miniature gin bottles, such as a classic gin or pink gin, or a larger 70cl bottle for a larger hamper.
Tonics: Quality tonic waters are a great addition to any gin basket. There are a number of flavoured options from fruity and floral to citrus, herbal, and the unusual.
The flavour of a tonic can significantly change the taste of a G&T, so feel free to select a range of flavours for a unique gift they’ll love.
Snacks & garnishes
Savoury snacks: Snacks such as crackers, savoury biscuits, olives, nuts, and dry cheeses pair perfectly with the juniper-led flavours of a gin. They make a perfect addition to a gin hamper; it's worth checking the expiry date before selecting, to ensure everything is in date by the time of gifting
Chocolate: Quality chocolate is a great addition to a gin hamper or basket, especially for more fruit-flavoured gins or tonics.
Garnishes: Adding garnishes can be a nice way to elevate your gin hamper. Dried fruits such as oranges and lemons make a great choice. As with any food-based gifts, always check the expiry date before selecting.
Hamper & decorations
Glassware: Adding a gin tumbler or gin glass is a nice way to round off a gin hamper, ensuring your recipient has a memorable, long-lasting gift to keep.
Extra gifts: If you’re looking for something else to add, gin shop vouchers, experience day gift cards, merchandise, and comical signs make great little additions to a hamper to pad it out for a bigger gift.
Hamper/basket: The presentation is ultimately down to you! A wicker basket or wicker box is perhaps the most classic option and can be bought empty new from most retailers online or in-store.
If you feel like getting creative, a cardboard box can be themed easily with wrapping paper (a plaid or patterned wrapping paper makes a great choice for Christmas hampers!).
Decorations & padding: Decorations are a perfect way to bring a gin hamper together. Padding with shredded coloured paper can help to protect bottles whilst bringing the theme to life. Coloured or clear wrap can also help to keep any loose items, such as bottles and foodstuffs, within the hamper when in transport.
Bows and ribbons can also make a great addition to decorate a hamper, and can be done on a small budget.
Quick, make-your-own gin hampers
If you’re looking for a quick hamper kit, there are a number of make-your-own hamper kits available online and in stores from around £5. Simply add the gins, tonics, snacks, and contents to your discretion!
