Sink your fangs into our spooky cocktails

Black Cat Martini

A sophisticated and deeply coloured martini, perfect for Halloween celebrations. This spooky cocktail achieves a deep purple colour, combining the botanicals of our gin with Blue Curaçao and berry liqueur.

Easy to make and easy to batch for multiple drinks.

You’ll need:

  • Gin (Filey Signature Gin): 50 ml

  • Blue Curaçao: 25 ml

  • Chambord (or dark berry liqueur): 15 ml

  • A Squeeze of Fresh Lemon Juice

  • Garnish: Blackberries - optional

Method:

  1. Add the gin, Blue Curaçao, Chambord, and lemon juice to a cocktail shaker with ice.

  2. Shake well until thoroughly chilled.

  3. Strain into a chilled martini or coupe glass.

  4. Garnish with the skewered blackberries.

Tweak to your taste: If you prefer a slightly more sour cocktail, you can add more lemon juice to offset the berry liqueur.

A pink gin, such as our award-winning Filey Pink Gin, makes a great substitution for a London-dry style gin, adding extra berries and fruity flavours to this spooky cocktail.

The Corpse Reviver No. 666

The original Corpse Reviver No. 2 is a famous gin-based cocktail designed to 'revive' you. Our Corpse Reviver No. 666 twist is the perfect spooky cocktail to sip throughout your celebrations.

You’ll need:

  • Gin (such as our Signature Filey Gin): 25 ml

  • Cointreau (or other Orange Liqueur): 25 ml

  • Dry Vermouth: 25 ml

  • Fresh Lemon Juice: 25 ml

  • Absinthe: A dash/rinse

  • Garnish: Gummy worm or olive - optional

Method:

  1. Rinse the inside of a chilled coupe or martini glass with a dash of absinthe, discarding the excess.

  2. Add the gin, Cointreau, Dry Vermouth, and lemon juice to a shaker with ice.

  3. Shake well until chilled.

  4. Strain into the prepared glass.

  5. Garnish with a gummy worm or olive “eyeball” to bring your spooky cocktail together.

Our Corpse Reviver No. 666 cocktail is a sophisticated, spooky tipple that can be made quickly while you entertain guests.

Tweak to your taste: As with any cocktail, you can tweak the ratios to suit your taste preferences. Prefer a more sour drink? Adding extra lemon juice can be a great choice. If you’re not a fan of the anise taste of absinthe, this can be swapped out so you can enjoy this Halloween gin cocktail, your way.

Devilishly Delicious Gin Fizz

This Halloween cocktail idea takes a classic and refreshing gin fizz and adds a chilling, theatrical element, perfect for a photo-op!

It’s an easy and fun one to make, and can be tweaked to your taste and preferences.

You’ll need:

  • Gin (Filey Signature Gin for the best results): 45 ml

  • Fresh Lemon Juice: 30 ml

  • Grenadine or Raspberry Syrup: 15 ml

  • Soda Water: 90 ml (approx)

  • Syringe: Not essential / used for theme

Method:

  1. Fill a chilled glass with ice.

  2. Add the gin, lemon juice, and soda water. Stir briefly.

  3. Fill your syringe with the grenadine or syrup and place it in the glass as a garnish.

  4. Serve and invite guests to inject the red "blood" into their fizz.

This cocktail adds a fun and interactive element to your Halloween party drinks. Simply order new, clean syringes online and fill with your grenadine or raspberry syrup when you’re ready to serve.

If you can’t get your hands on syringes, simply stir in the grenadine or raspberry syrup and serve. This is a great cocktail to make for parties or when you have guests over, especially if you’re looking for cocktail ideas or recipes, if you don’t have a cocktail shaker to hand.

Tweak to your taste: If you or your guests prefer a slightly sweeter drink, you can add more grenadine or syrup. Pulling back on the syrup is a great way to let the gin cut through more if you prefer a more bitter, spirit-led gin fizz. Play about with the cocktail recipe and find what you enjoy!

Hocus Pocus Witches' Brew

The witches' brew cocktail is a firm favourite of Halloween parties and celebrations. For the best results, prepare in advance for a spooky cocktail that will impress your guests.

You’ll need:

  • Butterfly Pea Gin: 50 ml

  • Blue Curaçao: 15 ml

  • Fresh Lemon Juice: 15 ml

  • Tonic Water or Soda Water: to top up

  • Garnish: A slice of lemon

To make Butterfly Pea Gin:

  • Gin

  • Butterfly Pea Flowers

Infuse the butterfly pea flowers in the gin at least a day or two before serving. This will achieve a purple/blue coloured gin.

Method:

  1. In a glass, gently pour the Blue Curaçao.

  2. Fill the glass with ice.

  3. Slowly pour the Butterfly Pea Gin over the back of a spoon to create a layer above the curaçao.

  4. Gently pour the tonic water/soda over the spoon to maintain the layered effect.

  5. The Magic: Add the lemon juice and watch the top purple layer turn to a spooky pink/purple as the acid reacts with the gin's botanicals.

Tweak to your taste: Play about with the amount of lemon juice you use to for a sweeter or more sour drink.

A tart, blood-red cocktail that is sure to impress. Our Vampire’s Kiss cocktail is quick and easy to make. It serves as a great option to switch up from standard cocktail recipes.

What’s more, you have the option to tweak and change your spirits to suit your preferences, or to use up any spirits you have in your cupboard.

You’ll need:

  • Gin (Filey Signature Gin): 35 ml

  • Rhubarb Gin / or Pink Gin / or Vodka: 15 ml - the choice is yours, Filey Pink Gin makes a great choice!

  • Fresh Lime Juice: 20 ml

  • Pomegranate Juice: 10 ml

  • Honey-Ginger Syrup: 15 ml

  • Ginger Beer: To top up

  • Granulated Sugar and Red Food Colouring: Optional

Method

  1. Optional red rim: Add granulated sugar into a bowl, and add 3-4 drops of red food colouring to start, and begin to mix. You can add more food colouring for a deeper and more intense colour.

  2. Optionalred rim: Spread the now-red sugar out in a thin layer on a plate and let it dry for 10-15 minutes.

  3. Optional red rim: Once the sugar has dried, Rub the rim of your glass with a lime wedge and dip it into a saucer of red sugar.

  4. Add gin, rhubarb gin/vodka, lime juice, syrups, and pomegranate juice to a shaker with ice.

  5. Shake and strain into the prepared glass.

  6. Top with chilled ginger beer and garnish.

The Zombie

The zombie is a well-loved, strong cocktail. And with a name like that, it would be rude not to include it in our list. We’re offering up a traditional recipe and our gin-led twist, so you can take your pick!

You’ll need:

  • Spirit 1: 35 ml Gin or 25 ml Dark Rum

  • Spirit 2: 15 ml White Rum or 25 ml White Rum

  • Lime Juice: 25 ml

  • Grapefruit Juice: 25 ml

  • Grenadine: 10 ml

  • Ginger Syrup: 10 ml

  • Garnish: A Halloween gummy or half a passion fruit

Method:

  1. Add your spirits 1 and 2, all juices, grenadine, and ginger syrup to a shaker with ice.

  2. Shake well until thoroughly chilled.

  3. Strain into a tall glass or tiki mug filled with crushed ice.

  4. Garnish with a spooky gummy or a passion fruit half (which can look gooey and unsettling!).

The botanicals in gin add a drier, more complex layer that balances the sweet tropical juices, resulting in a slightly lighter, brighter, but equally fruity cocktail.
