Summer is here, which means it’s time to ditch the Hot Toddies and Mulled Wine for refreshing and chilled summer cocktails.The light and botanical flavourings of gin, along with its popular pairing with summer fruits and berries, makes gin the perfect base for cocktails in the warmer weather. Either on holiday or enjoying some sun in the garden, a gin based cocktail is the perfect summer drink. 


We have comprised a list of our favourite gin based cocktails that you can make at home hassle free! Whether you enjoy pink and fruity, strong and punchy, or sophisticated and refreshing, elevate your summer evenings and ‘wow’ your garden party guest with these 3 summer gin cocktails.

Homemade Gin Cocktails

Making your own cocktails is a fun and creative activity to do with friends and family this summer. When the sun is shining, bring your ingredients onto the patio and enjoy experimenting with the art of mixology, expressing your personal style through how you decorate and present your creations, and impressing your guests with your cocktail shaking techniques. Once you have tried all 3, feel free to play around with tweaking the measurements or substituting some ingredients in order to make your own signature cocktail!

Gin Cocktails for Summer

Frozen Lemon and Tonic

The perfect cocktail for them hot summer afternoons when you’re craving something crisp and refreshing. This zesty cocktail will wake you up and cool you down in no time, and looks as nice as it tastes!

A frozen lemon and tonic is a great summer substitute for your classic G&T, with similar ingredients and fresh taste, but with an added summer kick. 

Ingredients
  • 2 Shots of Signature Gin
  • 1 Shot of Vermouth
  • 3 Tablespoons Lemon Juice
  • Tonic Water
  • 2 Cups of Ice
  • 1 lemon (Garnish)
Tools
  • Blender
  • Tumbler Glass
  • Shot Glass
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Cutting Knife and Board
  1. Add the above measurements of Gin, Vermouth, Lime Juice, and Ice in to a blender and blend until smooth (about 20-25 seconds).
  2. Pour into your Tumbler Glass and top up with tonic water.
  3. Garnish with lime wedges or slices.

Pink Gin Iced Tea

For those who prefer pink gin, this pink gin iced tea is the perfect fruity but refreshing cocktail to make on a summer afternoon. If you’re making multiple cocktails, we recommend making the tea for this one first, so that it has time to cool down whilst you enjoy the others!

Ingredients 
  • 1 shot of Pink Gin
  • 1 shot of Spiced Rum
  • 1 tbsp Ederflower Syrup 
  • 30ml Grapefruit Juice
  • 1 Chamomile Tea Bag
  • 1 Grapefruit (Garnish)
  • 2 cups of Ice

  • Measuring Spoon
  • Cutting Knife and Board 
  • Shot Glass
  • Tumbler Glass
  1. Make your Chamomile Tea by infusing a chamonile tea bag in to hot water for 5 minutes.
  2. Leave the tea to cool for at least half an hour.
  3. Once cool, pour the chamomile tea, pink gin, spiced rum, elderflower syrup, grapefruit juice, and ice into a cocktail shaker and shake until cold.
  4. Strain into a Tumbler glass and garnish with a grapefruit slice.

Honey Gin

This unique cocktail is a great one for ‘wowing’ your guests. With a fresh and sophisticated look and taste, it is sure to go down a treat with any guest that loves the sweetness of honey. 

Ingredients
  • 2 Shots of Signature Gin
  • 3 tsp of Honey
  • 2 tbsp of lemon juice
  • Ice
  • Lemon (to serve)

  • Cocktail Shaker
  • Cocktail Strainer
  • Tumbler Glass
  • Measuring Spoons
  • Shot Glass
  1. Thin down the honey by mixing it with 1 tsp of boiling water until smooth
  2. Pour the honey, signature gin, lemon juice, and ice into a cocktail shaker and shake until cold.
  3. Strain into a tumbler glass and garnish with zest of a lemon.
